Wedding Stylist Cambridgeshire Shares Autumnal Inspiration

Autumn is such a lovely time of year! The leaves are changing, there is a crispness in the air and it has the most beautiful colours to inspire a wedding!

We are going to show how you can create a gorgeous autumnal-themed wedding through florals and decor.

Colour Palette

For autumn we love sticking with those staple colours like rust orange, burgundy and forest green as they are perfect for this time of year. Colour can be brought in through stationery, table decor and even bridesmaids' dresses.

Florals

Shoot - Cambridge Marina

There are so many gorgeous flowers that come out in autumn, including, dahlias, ranunculus and sedum. There are also options to get other flowers in colours like burgundy, rust and dark green as well as being able to add foliage and berries to create an autumnal feel The best thing is to talk to your florist about your colour theme and see how this can be incorporated throughout the florals.

Table Decor & Venue Styling

You can add gorgeous pops of colour with table runners, napkins and even candlesticks to create a gorgeous autumnal feel. We would suggest gold accents in your cutlery, tea light holders and candlestick holders as this adds some warmth to the styling.

We created this look with terracotta table runners, orange napkins, gold & black candlestick holders, different coloured candlesticks, glass and gold tea light holders, boho placemats and gold cutlery, king sure it reflected the gorgeous autumnal theme and fit perfectly with the florals.

The use of candles also adds warmth and a lovely cost feel. Use glass cylinders, lanterns and pillar candles to line your aisle and then reusing these in your wedding breakfast adds that warmth and lovely ambience. If your venue allows you can also opt for fairy lights, these again add that bit of light and ambience, creating a cosy feel.

Talk with your stationer and run through your colour palette and another styling so they can ensure this ties in with the overall theme. They can add small pops of colour or use block colouring with a coloured background or envelopes.

You can also add some fun aspects to the day to bring out the autumnal feel. Have a fire pit and blankets outside for people to cosy up by - extra points for a yummy s’mores station! You can also talk to your caterers about creating an autumn menu and leaning into seasonal foods. You can also look at fun drinks reception options like warm cider or boozy hot chocolate!

You can create a cosy autumn wedding so easily and we think autumnal colours are just perfect!
