The Barn at Alswick is such a gorgeous blank canvas venue, nestled in the Hertfordshire countryside. We had the pleasure of helping to bring Jade & Mike's vision together back in February and what a gorgeous day it turned out to be!
The Barn at Alswick is a late 16th-century barn, a part of the historic Alswick Hall Estate, which has been modernly restored as an event space. It is a beautiful blank canvas venue that means you can truly add your personal touch and style to your wedding.
As one of our favourite venues, we do truly recommend the barn for your wedding day!

For this wedding, we did a styling set-up using our own props and setting up the couple's own items. We worked closely with the couple, ensuring everything was tied together and creating a stunning look.
Ceremony
We set up indoor fairy lights to create a soft, romantic feel which really set the tone for the ceremony and carried through to the wedding breakfast and evening.
The ceremony set-up was simple but so effective. We worked closet with Sara from Queen & Eden who created pew ends, a floral display for the registrar table and a gorgeous hoop as a backdrop for the ceremony. This worked perfectly with the overall theme.
We also ensure the reserved seating signs were in the correct place, so Jade & Mike's loved ones could be close to them. The couple had personalised confetti bags placed on each chair in the ceremony, which also had their order of the day on the front. Such a sweet detail and a lovely keepsake!
Tables
The Barn at Alswick has gorgeous rustic, long tables which worked so well for Jade & Mike's wedding day. They create an intimate feel without feeling crowded. The long guest tables had gorgeous foliage heavy runners down the centre with our tealight holders dotted around. This created a warming ambience whilst not taking away from any other styling elements. On the top table, Sara repurposed the floral display from the registrar table and the pew ends from the ceremony, which also paired with our tealight holders. This kept the theme cohesive, whilst ensuring the top table stood out.
The florals and styling paired perfectly with the stationery with folded place names and menus placed on the tables.
Other Areas
We also made sure all of the signage was in the correct place, so each guest could see this as they entered certain areas. The Barn at Alswick has their own welcome sign that it can personalise for each wedding, which is such a great option and works so well with the look of the venue. We also placed the seating plan at the entrance of the wedding breakfast area so it was easy and accessible for guests to find their seats.
We also made sure the guestbook and card tables were set up with the items the coup[le provided. This was placed in the entrance to the barn so it was easy for guests to drop off the cards and presents when they arrive, as well as allowing guests to come back and forth to sign the guestbook throughout the day.
You could see Jade & Mike had put so much thought into the whole day, especially the small details. This created such a lovely, warming feel to the whole day and it was so special to be a part of.
