London photographer's Tips and Tricks
Updated: Mar 28
Why do you do what you do?
I started my photography business 10 years ago. My love of photography and my photographic style has grown over the years. I started my career as a graphic designer and photographic art director working for fashion and lifestyle brands. From the start my style has been influenced by my background in design. I find inspiration in the small things; light, nature, design, architecture and, most importantly, the people I work with.
I am passionate about bringing a relaxed approach to the weddings I photograph, while creating beautiful, natural and timeless images that have a touch of romance and lots of fun. My aim is always to make it easy for the couples I work with and to give an amazing collection of images that brings back all the feelings from the wedding day.
A wedding is such a big part of a couples life. Its the start of a new chapter in a relationship, so having the moments photographed is really important. 5, 10 or 15 years down the line the photos and your memories will be the only thing that you have a reminder.
What you love most about the industry
It definitely is the people I have had the pleasure to get to know, to work with and to now call my friends. The industry is a wonderful one with so many talented, kind and passionate people. All of who want to do a brilliant job for the couples they work with.
While I do create an image it’s not necessarily something you could call a creation. I think my favourite thing is capturing an image that just sums up the feelings of that moment in time. It might be a dad seeing his daughter for the first time in her dress. A couple looking so, so happy after saying ‘I do’. Friends on the dance floor having the best time together. All these moments are favourites and being able to put them all together in one beautiful story for a couple to have as a permanent reminder is the best.
Choosing a Theme
The best way anyone can choose a theme for their wedding is to keep it personal. Be true to what you love and what you want from your wedding day and you won’t go far wrong.
Lots! I have written lots of posts that share advice and help for getting the best out of your wedding photos, but also about planning a wedding. One of the most useful posts I have shared is getting perfect timings on your wedding day.
This really helps to plan for a relaxed day and have plenty of time for the photos and to enjoy time with your guests.
