South Farm is a wedding venue who believe in being as green as possible, they manage this by growing, rearing, and harvesting vegetables, fruit, and eggs.
South Farm is a beautiful location, in the Cambridgeshire countryside. They make a big effort to benefit the plant and make the world a more sustainable place.
They do this by:
Sourcing local suppliers
Rearing their own pork & eggs
Cater in-house
Produce their own honey & jams
Make their own apple juice
Pick Elderflower time be made into soft drinks or Elderini
...and so much more!
Biodegradable Paper

Reducing the amount of stationery for your wedding day... one wedding invite per household, you don’t need to send one per person.
Your order of services could be one for every two guests, this can help cut down the amount of waste and your guests can share during the ceremony.
Local Suppliers
The easiest way to cut down the carbon footprint for your wedding, is to hire local suppliers. If you are struggling with finding local suppliers then ask your wedding venue & suppliers you’ve already chosen. They will be willing to share their suppliers with you.

Reusable Items
The best way to find your decor items, is to use small styling/ decor companies. This means you won’t have to buy centrepieces and any type of decorations that you decide on, which saves you money and cuts down the amount of waste at the end of your wedding.
I have a range of decor items, contact me for more information.

Candlelight
Lighting a room with candles, can set the mood for a romantic evening, you can cut down the electricity but using candles (if your venue allows this).
Recycle Florals
At the end of your wedding, you will have a lot of leftover florals, you can give your florals to your family & friends or you can donate your florals to any local charities and care homes.

Donating leftover food
This is something that you have to plan in advance, there are charities who will collect your food and freeze for families who are in need.
Transportation of Guests
This will apply if you will be having your ceremony and wedding breakfast in different locations, the best way to decrease the carbon footprint is by transporting the guests in a shuttle. Your guests save on petrol and they can talk to all of the guests on the way.
